Where the Hell is Matt? Dancing Badly Around the World

Matt is 32 years old and considers himself to be "a deadbeat from Connecticut who used to think that all he ever wanted to do in life was make and play video games." He achieved this goal pretty early and enjoyed it for a while, but eventually realized there might be other stuff he was missing out on.
In February of 2003, he quit his job in Brisbane, Australia and used the money he'd saved to wander around Asia until it ran out. He made a website so he could keep his family and friends updated about where was . . . thus the site name www.wherethehellismatt.com.
A few months into his trip, a travel buddy gave Matt an idea. They were standing around taking pictures in Hanoi, and his friend said "Hey, why don't you stand over there and do that dance. I'll record it." He was referring to a particular dance Matt does. It's actually the only dance Matt does. He does it badly. Anyway, this turned out to be a very good idea.
A couple years later, someone found the video online and passed it to someone else, who passed it to someone else, and so on. Matt soon became "The guy who dances badly on the internet." The response to the first video brought Matt to the attention of Stride gum who offered to sponsor him on a second trip around the world. He completed that 6 month trip to 39 countries in 2006.
When he got home he published his second dancing video on the internet and became even more famous, but in 2007 Matt realized his bad dancing would be even more interesting if other people danced badly with him. So he went back to Stride with another idea.
He showed them his inbox, which was overflowing with emails from all over the planet. He told them he wanted to travel around the world one more time and invite the people who had written him to come out and dance. Stride thought that sounded pretty cool, so they sponsored him on another around the world adventure.
In June 2009 Matt published his book WHERE THE HELL IS MATT? Dancing Badly Around the World which is getting great reviews. At Amazon.com it has been rated 5 stars by reviewers (highest possible).
Matt has attracted a lot of followers including some pretty famous people. Check out the man looking at the laptop in the bottom left corner of this picture. Look familiar?
This picture was reportedly taken last year before the election by a Fox News reporter. Obama and the press core were checking out Matt's video while on the campaign trail.
Matt is not rich. He has no magical secret for traveling cheap. He does it pretty much the same way everybody else does.
Matt was a very poor student and never went to college. When he got older, he says he was pleased to discover no one actually cared. He doesn't want to imply that college is bad. He just believes there are other ways to fill your head.
At 32 years of age Matt has traveled the world three times walking on seven continents, is known by the president of the United States and has published his first book which is getting rave reviews.
His video has made hundreds of thousands of people feel "good" and he spends his time dancing. Not bad for a" deadbeat".
